Summary: We found our own way from Haugesund to Aksdal bus station, and was then a 15 min walk down to the lake. We were given a short demo and safety instructions before going onto the lake. The lake was beautiful, and we had a great time kayaking around by ourselves for a few hours. When we finished, our host even gave us a lift back to Haugesund, stopping off at a viewpoint. She went out of her way to look after us and would absolutely recommend this activity if you're in Haugesund for the day. You have plenty of time to get there and get back if you plan, and the bus there is cheap. Our host was also responsive and accommodating.
